I manage Windows endpoints and the hardware they run on. Most of that experience comes from POS and retail environments. Lately that's meant building system images for new POS terminals before they ship out to a store.
New POS hardware doesn't always play nice with the image you built for the old model. That's the kind of thing I like digging into. Half the time a troubleshooting problem isn't even in Windows, it's a loose cable or bad firmware.

The title says POS Administrator. The actual job is Windows endpoint management and enterprise IT, with POS as one piece of it.
- Led a disaster-recovery initiative so stores keep taking payments during head-office outages, with automated recovery that cuts manual restore work
- Scripted deployment of NCR's LeanReceipt tool and adapted it for both POS and self-checkout receipt printers, cutting receipt paper usage 30%+. Later rolled out to Dollarcity (Dollarama's Latin America division) alongside Canada
- Built a PowerShell solution, packaged as an SCCM application, that keeps POS clocks correct in BC, Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Manitoba after their 2026 move to permanent time: per-device province detection, dry-run mode, automated tests, a rollback script, a QA runbook and a deployment guide
- Built a PowerShell (WinForms) control panel for the team's SCCM deployment checks: turns a rollout e-mail into per-time-zone store check lists, flags unknown or inactive stores, validates and syncs check configs, and shows deployment status

Cutting receipt paper usage across POS operations

Keeping POS clocks right through the 2026 time change
Four provinces moved to permanent time in November 2026, before Windows had the new time zones. POS clocks still had to stay correct.
A control panel for the team's deployment checks
After every SCCM rollout, scripted checks confirm each store's POS got the update. Planning those checks by hand was slow and easy to get wrong.
Updating receipt-printer settings remotely
A configuration change had to reach receipt printers connected over serial ports, on terminals where other software keeps the port busy.
Standardizing POS display profiles
Different POS hardware needed different dual-monitor profiles, with no fast way to switch between them out in the field.
