A bit about me

I got my start in Ukraine, with a Computer Engineering diploma from Novyi Rozdil Polytechnic College. Then four and a half years as a systems and networks engineer at a hospital in Lviv. Lots of hands-on hardware and software support, and a lot of direct back-and-forth with vendors. That vendor side taught me more about dealing with people than any of the technical work did.

From there I went through a Web Developer program, also in Lviv, before moving to Montreal. I started with an English program at McGill to get my footing, then built up IT experience here in Canada. That eventually turned into POS Administration at Dollarama.

Day to day it's Windows administration and endpoint management, plus hardware deployment and imaging. POS environments are one part of that mix. PowerShell scripting runs through most of it. It's how I keep the repetitive parts manageable.

Outside of work I run Fedora Linux with KDE, and I keep a homelab going. Home Assistant handles the smart-home side, runtipi handles self-hosting the rest. I also play music. Guitar and cajón for fun, and I've studied accordion more formally.

Also, I have a Devon Rex cat named Bulka.
